Props to the director and production staff! One of the two best movies of the 70's. After receiving word about a mysterious carcass/skeleton unearthed in the Arizona desert, a father and his daughter decide to. I think this movie beats out most of the hack and slash films of the 80's. A must see for any horror/supernatural enthusiast. This movie has a great story as well as a great back story (intro),Gargoyles waking up every 600 years. Will they survive the attack of the Gargoyles. They enlist the help of some "Dirt Bikers" including Glen a long with local authorities. From that point on scary things begin to happen. When skeletal remains of a mythical nature are discovered in the desert, an old timer calls in a well known college professor (Wilde) who brings along his daughter (Salt) as an assistant. I even got a kick out of old "Uncle Willy". Veteran actor Cornel Wilde and up and coming Jennifer Salt and Scott Glenn were great. Great job Stan Winston ! The other characters were believable. Bernie Casey scared the hell out of me as the leader of Nothing at that time was being made especially for TV like this. As a young kid into "Creature Features", I was blown away.
